Graduation Requirements

Uplift Community High School utilizes standard Chicago Public School graduation  requirements. In order to graduate, students need to earn 24 credits by the end of  their senior year (.5 credits=1 semester), consisting of:


SCIENCE

1 credit biology, 1 credit chemistry, 1 credit physics

ENGLISH

1 credit English I, 1 credit English II, 1 credit English III, 1 credit English IV

MATHEMATICS

1 credit algebra, 1 credit geometry, 1 credit advanced algebra/trigonometry

SOCIAL SCIENCE

1 credit world studies, 1 credit US History, .5 credit civics, .5 credit any other social science

COMPUTER SCIENCE

1 credit of Exploring Computer Science

FINE ARTS

2 credits of any fine arts (music, visual arts, drama, etc)

WORLD LANGUAGE

2 credits of any foreign language

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

1 credit PE 1/Health, 1 credit PE 2/Driver’s Education

CAREER EDUCATION

1 credit in any career education course

ELECTIVES

3 credits of any elective courses

NON-CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

Must pass Health Education, Driver’s Education, & Public Law 195 exam. Must complete a course with consumer education integration and two in-class service learning projects. Must take the SAT.
